Electrified

The history of Porsche begins electrically: in 1893 Ferdinand Porsche brought the future to his parents' house with a lighting system. His steerable wheel hub drive, which he presented in 1900 in a Lohner Porsche electric vehicle in Paris, was marketable. In 1898, he designed his first electric vehicle with rear-wheel drive.

Under the heading "Intelligent Performance", Porsche took up the idea again in 2010. In the same year, he created the world's first functional hybrid vehicle. The new book from the Porsche Museum Edition spans the spectrum from early electric mobility with road and racing vehicles to modern hybrid concepts and the Taycan, the Porsche brand's first all-electric sports car.
