I am a hopeless romatic who hasn't had her first kiss yet, who has never been loved by a boy before, who loves painfully open and yet in secrecy. It is written very differently than my other stories because it is my own. But above all, it is about August.
My August. My love.A love letter began writing itself on a summer day seven years ago, I have just come to pick up the words that have been following me since then. This book is not about getting over someone you love- it is about finding your courage to tell them how you feel, to not have regrets, to trust your heart.
I have written this book with no intention of publishing it but all my friends and family cried while reading it privately. "It is such a beautiful book, Elaine. You cannot leave it like this.
You have to publish it!"Here I am, I guess. My ten year old self would be gaping at me right now. "This is so real, all of it." I say to her as I grin.
